FAQ's
If I call the charity can I remain anonymous?
Yes. You don’t have to disclose any information about yourself when you call our helpline. We are happy to provide a sympathetic ear and general advice without requiring any personal details.
Will asking Gloucestershire Farming Friends for help cost me anything?
No. All the help and support we provide is given freely by the charity’s volunteers.
I don’t live in Gloucestershire do I still qualify for help?
We work predominantly in Gloucestershire, which is where the majority of our volunteers are based. However, we do occasionally work on cases in neighbouring counties. If you based in another region of the UK but require support you should contact the Farm Crisis Network.
I’m not a farmer do I still qualify for help?
Yes you do. We provide help and support to all those living and working within the rural community.
I need help with my paperwork can you help?
Yes. This is one of our most common requests and we are experienced in helping deal with everything from basic queries, to complex legal matters. Even if it’s a case of ‘information overload’ we can offer support.
I need practical help on my farm, can you help?
Yes. Unlike some other charities, we are happy to get practically involved in the cases we support and do offer on the ground support when and where required.
My partner is suffering from depression, can you help?
Research shows that depression amongst farmers is significantly above the national average. We have supported families and individuals who have suffered from depression and other mental illnesses and recognise the enormous toll this can have both on the individual in question and those living with them.
