How we work

Gloucestershire Farming Friends provides assistance on a whole host of issues.

Anyone seeking support can phone the charity’s helpline at anytime and talk anonymously to a volunteer.

If more ‘hands on’ help is needed Gloucestershire Farming Friends can provide practical support ranging from specialist legal or financial advice to physical help on the farm..

The charity was particularly busy during the Foot and Mouth epridemic and during the major floods of 2007, and significant regulatory changes such as the Single Farm Payment scheme also resulted in a surge of calls to the helpline.

We also act on referrals from third parties and in the past we have been made aware of cases thanks to doctors, vets, vicars, friends and family members..
