How we work
Gloucestershire Farming Friends provides assistance on a whole host of issues.
Anyone seeking support can phone the charity’s helpline at anytime and talk anonymously to a volunteer.
If more ‘hands on’ help is needed Gloucestershire Farming Friends can provide practical support ranging from specialist legal or financial advice to physical help on the farm.
The charity was particularly busy during the Foot and Mouth epidemic, more recently significant regulatory changes such as the introduction of the Single Farm Payment scheme have also resulted in a surge of calls to the helpline.
We also act on referrals from third parties and in the past we have been made aware of cases thanks to doctors, vets, vicars, friends and family members.
We have some grant funding available to help pay for specialist legal advice and consultancy on subsidy matters, where we are not qualified to help internally.
